Barcelona Airport to Sitges by Taxi

Can you think of anything more convenient than taking a Barcelona airport taxi to transfer you to your accommodation in Sitges after a tiring and/or long flight? Once exiting the arrivals areas of both BCN terminals, you’ll find the black and yellow taxis waiting for you, no matter the day or time. Get in line and catch your cab, knowing that you’ll get the first glimpse of Sitges in approximately 30 minutes.

The ride from BCN Airport to Sitges usually costs about 50€/50$ during the daytime (8:00 am – 8:00 pm). Nevertheless, if you are a late-night traveler or traveling on weekends or holidays, the night tariff will apply. Thus, you should expect to be charged approximately 54€/54$. The taxi fares aren’t pre-determined but are calculated by a taximeter, while extra fees (luggage, tolls, etc.) may also apply. Hence, you should negotiate the price with your driver before starting your ride. You should also keep in mind that the tipping the taxi driver at the end of the ride is customary but not obligatory.

Our Tip: The coastal road to Sitges is far more picturesque. However, it is longer, adding 10 more minutes to the whole ride’s duration. Oppositely, taking the highway will save you time but will add toll fees to the total cost of your transfer.

Barcelona Airport to Sitges by Bus

There is only a coach bus directly connecting the BCN Airport to the town of Sitges. The Garraf Buses (formerly known as Monbus) depart every 30 minutes from terminal 1 of El Prat Airport (hourly during off-peak hours) and head to Sitges. Running from 05:20 am to 11:50 pm during the weekdays and from 7:50 am to 10:50 pm on Saturdays, the Garraf Buses are an excellent way to reach your destination fast, almost hassle-free, and affordably. However, you should keep in mind that on Sundays and during public holidays, buses operate from 9:50 am to 11:50 pm at a two-hour frequency.

In any case, their journey lasts about 40 minutes as the in-between stops are limited. The bus ticket costs 8.30€/8.30$. Alternatively, you can buy a T-casual ticket, which allows you to travel 10 times inside zone 3, using any means of public transportation (including the Garraf Buses) and paying 32.55€/32.55$.

Our Tip: The Garraf Buses leave from the T1 bus stop, just outside the terminal building. Therefore, if you are landing at T2, you’ll have to take the free airport shuttle bus to T1. The free shuttles are available 24/7. Nevertheless, they’ll make your journey longer, adding an extra 10-15 minutes to the entire duration.
